World Firefox Day

Firefox DayLast weekend, we launched World Firefox Day, an outreach program that gives everyone who uses Firefox an easy way to share Firefox with one friend.

We’re building upon the New York Times campaign, and the Firefox Flicks campaign we rolled out with the release of Firefox 1.5, by reaching out to current Firefox users, and asking them to help Mozilla raise the visibility of Firefox as a great choice for getting on the Web. Tapping into the enthusiasm of Firefox users has helped us get to where we are now, by leveraging the word of mouth recommendations millions of Firefox users have given to friends, family and co-workers.

Delivering this campaign was a global effort and involved Mozilla contributors from all over the world. Thank you Kohei, Pascal, Axel, Nukeador, Marcoos, Gen, Tristan, Anne-Julie, Steven, Nathan, Mike G., Mary, Andrew, Reed, Jeremy, Aravind, Justin, Asa, Sherman, Chris B., John L. and the SFx+ crew. We couldn’t have gotten this campaign live without your help and hard work.

The marketing team here at Mozilla will continue to build on our past work in spreading the word about Firefox by engaging our worldwide community. We’re also excited for the future, by introducing new and effective ways to let people know about Firefox who wouldn’t have heard otherwise.

We started outreach on World Firefox Day exclusively on SpreadFirefox.com. We’ll be increasing the visibility of World Firefox Day via the Firefox Start Page and mozilla.com over the next few weeks till the campaign ends on September 15.

Let us know what you think about World Firefox Day. Your feedback helps us make sure we do it right.
